And it made me draw from the well of despair, from the muddy mud;
He put my feet on a rock, and straightened my steps.
Psalm40: 2
God brought us out of darkness to His admirable Light, to make our feet beautiful, and to walk like His children, He brought us out of the well and of evil, to raise us to heights! Amen.
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings glad tidings, who announces peace, who brings good tidings, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, Your God reigns! Isaiah 52: 7
Your feet are walking where there is light, and if you pass by where there is darkness, your feet should shine and wedge them under the authority of God, to put the enemy and his hosts under our feet, because he is already defeated.
Your word is a lamp to my feet,
And light my way. Psalm 119: 105
and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace Ephesians 6:15
Your feet should walk in humility and serve with love and excellence because God has made you his son and his daughter, also so that you walk safely and confidently.
The Lord Jehovah is my strength,
Which makes my feet like hinds,
And in my heights it makes me walk.
Habacuc 3:19
It strikes me that this passage says: "And in my heights it makes me walk".
It does not say in the heights it makes me walk, it says in my heights. But when we think about heights the truth is that few of us want to go to those high places because they mean risks, they mean danger. Immediately we think of falls, accidents, in serious danger so we relate it. Then we say I can not risk it. I can not go further, I'm going wrong.
In the spiritual it is the same. But then it has something good to walk in the heights ?. But before clarifying the point, let me tell you. I do not know if you already noticed, but this prayer is in the first person, all complete. First of all because they are your problems, they are your circumstances, it is your motives that make you see things in a certain way. Therefore it is you and God who must face these situations together. That's why Habacuc prayed: "My Fortress", "My feet", "My heights".
Habakkuk had to admit that he could no longer bear what he was seeing and living. The panorama was so gray and dark that Habacuc was depressed by all these circumstances. I do not know if the same thing is happening to you? No wonder, the picture is sad. Increasing economic crisis, destruction, tumults, overthrown governments, nuclear threats, terrorism, death, famine, violence that is getting worse and worse. We should all be depressed by the situation in the world. We should all complain to God what is happening! But at the end of his reflection Habakkuk made this prayer:
"The Lord GOD is my strength, who makes my feet like hinds' feet, and walks me on my heights."
Jesus is the only way to life, the only one who can lead man out of the bondage and darkness of which he is subjected in this world to walk in freedom and hope.
