Scientists Managed To Reverse The Aging Of Human Cells

Experts from the University of Exeter managed to reverse the aging of lab-grown human cells. Their research could one day hold the key to future anti-aging drugs.

Recently we discovered that one of the main reasons for aging could be the fact that we lack the ability to turn on and off genes at the right time and right place. This is because of a decrease in the number of proteins known as splicing factors. A new study shows that treating old cells by a chemical that releases small doses of hydrogen sulfide can increase the levels of some splicing factors and rejuvenate old human cells.

Obviously, hydrogen sulfide is toxic in large doses. But the scientists have found a way to deliver it straight to the mitochondria allowing them to use extra minuscule doses. That decreases the risks of side effects.
