Bet You Didn’t Know That About Camels!

I thought you might enjoy a grab bag for camel facts taken from 2 books, and of course I hope it’ll hook you into picking up a copy and reading it for yourself.


The two types of camel are found in different parts of the world:

The dromedary camel --------------------------------- The Bactrian camel

Habitat :

The dromedary camel, also called Arabian camel, can be found in Africa especially in North africa (Tunisia, Algeria, Morrocco or egypt...) and the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar...) The Bactrian camel lives in Central Asia (Iran, Afghanistan, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan...) No matter the type, camels are usually found in the desert, prairie or steppe.

Notice:
Though many people think that camels only live in hot climates, this is not true because they can live in the cold climates.

Size:

Most camels are tall than normal human. A Bactrian camel can grows to a shoulder height of 6 feet (1,8 meters) and a body length more than 9 feet (3 meters). They normally weigh 660 to 1050 kilos. When they are fully grown.

Habits:

Camels like to stay in groups called herds. And they are leading by a dominant male, Camels are very social and like to greet each other by blowing in each other's faces. But sometimes camels becomes aggressive when they feel oppressed or abused by human.
