MAN IN THE CONTEMPORARY WORLD

One of the symptoms of the tense concern with which we are approaching the transition to the third millennium is a humanistic, moral evaluation of the current role and the historical mission of science, in the life of man and the human race. Is science a force serving the needs and interest of man regardless of type of society in which it operates and develops or is orientation including possible negative applications, completely determined by society? In what extent can science contribute to man development or threaten him? What is it a correlation not only with the social conditions and factor influencing its development, but also with values in particular with humanistic principle. Can the letter play a regulating role in that development? How does man change in the course of scientific and technological progree, and how is the letter transformed under the influence of changes, in man, his civilization, and his culture.
