Even if we could download the thing, it's still not at all clear whether that would entail life everlasting! Just today the Chinese teleported a photon to a space station. But I doubt personal identity would survive such a trip, since it's only a teleportation of information, not the thing itself. Same with brain-downloading. There could be 2 versions of me, but only one would (logically?) be me.
Correct. We don't even know what consciousness is for us to prove it would produce a new us - if we map the Brain successfully. Thanks for your comment and yes, great news the fact that we have achieved some form of teleportation!
