My computer village experience....

To start with, I'll say I'm proudly Nigerian but unfortunately, this beautiful is know for scam....
Different types of scam, you name...
Whether internet fraud, cryptocurrency fraud, relationship fraud even spiritual fraud... Lol....
It's so bad that some countries outside Africa have a permanent phobia for Nigeria because from times last, we have been tagged as scammers or fraudsters...
And as it is, every or almost any Nigerian must have had one or more experiences with a scammer or knows someone who does or is even a scammer himself....
One way or the other, we are all connected....
I'm not a scammer, but I've has a first hand experience with one before...
I felt bad I could curse this person over and over but then.... The deed had already been done...
So this is my story.....
If you're conversant with Lagos state, you should know the popular computer village in Ikeja axis....

If you don't know your way around that place, trust me... You will most definitely be scammed big time...
Back then in 2010 it was my first time going to computer village...
I had been hearing of how the dupe/cheat people but I just assumed the customers weren't smart enough...
I went there alone for the first time(big mistake)
wanting to buy a new phone....
I didn't want to go to "slot" because someone had told me they sell fake phones there...
So I just went to a shop I saw by the way...
The phones looked really good and the store looked on point...
I got to picking the phone of my choice, tested everything and it was on point... So I paid and told them to package the phone for me....
I couldn't wait to get home and start using my phone...
On getting home, everyone wanted to see this new phone and I gently and happily unwrapped the case....
Lo and behold.... It was a small piece of block they had put in place of the phone, small enough to fit the size of a real phone....

I just stood in confusion and shock...
I thought I was dreaming...
I wasn't sure I knew what was happening....
Well, I had to rush back to the place I got the phone even with the stress and traffic but I didn't mind..
On getting there, I met a completely different set of people and when I complained.... They just laughed at me and told me to go home...
That I had been scammed... And next time, I should act smarter....
I felt so so so terrible... I didn't understand how people could be so wicked to collect hard earned money from people and just runaway with it...
But I've learnt my lessons....
Once bitten, twice shy....
Maybe that's one of the reasons I have trust issues.... Lol..
So the person who sold you the phone did not work in the store?
That was what the guys at the store told me. But I believed strongly that it was all a planned or staged work..... They all knew about it so when I even came came to make the complaint, they made me seem like the fool... Laughing endlessly....
By the time other customers came to ask what was going on... They just advised me to leave as I had been scammed in broad day light....
It's the normal trend in computer village... Once you're a new customer who doesn't know his way around.... They'll scam you....
I made a vow never to go back there....
