Thinking of our ways

in #sc-v5 years ago

The people of Israel return from a period of slavery and find themselves with the Temple of Jehovah destroyed, unfortunately the Israelites dedicated themselves to their marriages before devoting themselves to the reconstruction of the house of God.

"For thus saith the Lord of hosts: Meditate well on your ways."
Haggai 1: 5

So God raises a prophet to make his people understand what should be the priority in their lives: "Then the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai, saying: Is it for you time to dwell in your paneled houses, and this house is deserted? "

Many of us are somewhat confused of the needs of God's house (our churches),

First, in the quality of service we are providing, how we are doing things, the very word of God tells us that we should not do God's work indolently because we will carry a curse for us, in the new testament he challenges us to do things always as for God and not as for men, many of the servants of the churches do things well only when their leaders or pastors are before them, when things should be done with conscience that is a privilege that is given to us. us to do things that nobody else can do (each one of us is called to do something in the work of God that no one else can do, not by ability but by God's design)

Second, we leave the house of God in his daily work, give our offerings and tithes is important but we need to collaborate in having clean and beautiful the house of God, we must be clear that God does not live in temples made by human hands but it is that place where God gathers his people to receive the blessing He has prepared for us.

In addition we must know what our priorities are, whether the house of God or other things, we have repeatedly referred to a well-known text that says we seek first the Kingdom of God and his justice and all other things will come by add, in other words worry about the things of God (the work of God) and He will care (attend) your things.

It is true that we must have a ladder of priorities, but always before anything else should be the number one priority the Lord of the work.

It is necessary to do the work of God in order to receive the blessings of the Most High.

Verses 9 and 10 of the original passage say: You seek much, and you find little; and you lock up in the house, and I will dissipate it in a breath. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because my house is deserted, and each one of you runs to his own house. That is why the rain stopped over the heavens, and the earth stopped its fruits.

Many of the Christians of today care more for our things than for the things of God and for that reason we do not receive the blessings on their part, "the rain stopped over you" and there is no more blessing because the eagerness of each day you managed to prefer your priorities before those of God ...

It is time to reflect on our ways, what we are doing for God and for the work of God, what our priorities, whether personal or those of God, what is the attitude of our heart for as God in relation to our ways .

When things seem to go very well we measure it according to the level of income and expenditure; in the amount of things that we obtain for our well-being, but it happens that: "You sow much, and you gather little; you eat, and you are not satisfied; you drink, and you are not satisfied; you dress, and you do not warm up; and he who works for wages receives his wages in broken bag. Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Meditate on your ways. For you say: I am rich, and I have become rich, and I have no need of anything; and you do not know that you are a hapless, miserable, poor and blind and naked. Therefore I advise you to buy from me gold refined in fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments to wear, and not to be discovered the shame of your nakedness; And anoint your eyes with eye drops so that you can see. I rebuke and punish those I love; be zealous, then, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him. "(Haggai 1,6,7 and Revelation 3: 17-20)
