THROUGH PERIODS OF CRISIS

Why are the periods of crisis that reach our lives necessary? What is God's purpose when we go through these times of unwanted crises?

Certainly, nobody wants to go through short or prolonged periods of crisis. However, these unwanted situations allow us to depend directly on God and not on our own abilities and intelligence. Crises are sudden changes that come into our lives and require confronting them with great courage.

Every sudden change that occurs in our life often occurs unexpectedly and, therefore, takes us a little off guard. Therefore, our reaction is mainly visceral and we express some fear and concern.

But the truth is that our lives to grow as people and for our faith to grow, develop and strengthen we need to go through periods of crisis of all kinds, economic, spiritual, family, work, etc.

Therefore, we can affirm that crises, although we fear them, are necessary for us. The apostle Paul himself went through many crises throughout his life. He was imprisoned in Rome, stoned in Lystra, was a victim of a shipwreck, suffered a disease, etc.

By reading the Word of God, we conclude that crises are part of God's Plan for each of his children. Nevertheless. How should we face them?

We can find light by reading the words of the apostle Paul (1 Corinthians 10:13):

"You have not been presented with any evidence that is not human, but faithful is God, who will not allow you to take the test more than you can resist, but together with the test, will give you the way out so you can endure" .

Paul tells us very interesting things here, like that God controls all our tests and adapts them to the personal characteristics of each one of us. It also tells us that each test is bearable.

Therefore, each test has an intensity and limits that God sets: so that we can resist.

After this detailed reading, we can affirm that God is with us and accompanies us in the middle and throughout the test.

But not only that, but God knows perfectly how we are reacting to the test and He in his Power and Wisdom puts an end to our test when he considers it necessary.

Although sometimes there is evidence that shakes us strongly, God uses them with a very clear purpose (Eph. 4:13)

"Until we all reach the unity of the Faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, a perfect man, adapted to the stature of the fullness of Christ."

God does not want us to accept to live mediocre Christian lives, he does not want to have nominal Christians as children, God wants us to trust in our faith and depend more and more on Him and less on ourselves.

And finally, let's not forget that if God is present in every trial, we can also experience His Love in the midst of the crisis. His love is like the mantle you saw us when in the middle of a test we felt helpless and naked.

Sort:

if periods of crisis are necessary in our life to grow as mature believers, I pray for one thing; let God give us the WISDOM, which is ability or capacity to extract lessons out of challenges we faced in life.
