The false prophets

We all need influence leaders in our lives

Hello Steemians, blessed day, I greet you @genesis2000. I just want to remind you that each blog is a challenge for you and me, even if it does not seem like it; because the purpose of this is that we can learn together and improve each day.

We all need teachers, church leaders, referring pastors, those who write books, give lectures, teach us, inspire us and allow us to learn more every day.

To build our own personal worldview or our way of seeing life. Which is something that we are all doing in one way or another.

That is something good! But with this also comes a challenge.

And the challenge is that because we have access to today, to so many diversity of leaders, perspectives and teachings thanks to the Internet.

It is up to us to know how to choose who we are going to listen to, who to follow and who to learn. As we must also choose who we will not follow!

Thousands of years ago in Jewish culture, these leaders of influence were called "prophets". And the prophets were those who spoke on behalf of God!

In the Jewish context, "the prophets" were the referents, the leaders were the voices that the people had to listen to. They were those who served as guides to make decisions and live life in a certain way.

And on one occasion, Jesus appears and shares a message, which today many people think may be the most popular sermon in history.

And the way in which Jesus concludes this famous message, is with a series of warnings, and one of them is the following:

"Matthew 7: 15-20"

Beware of the "false prophets", who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are rapacious wolves.

By their fruits you will know them. Do they gather grapes from the thorns, or figs from the thorns?

Thus, every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit.

The good tree can not bear bad fruit, nor the bad tree can bear good fruit.

Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut and thrown into the fire.

So, by their fruits you will know them.

The phrase (Beware of the "false prophets") Today it tends to be used in various ways. Some believe that everyone who has a different theology, no matter how much disagreement with theirs, is a "false prophet."

Moreover, there are those who believe that ALL ARE FALSE PROPHETS except them.

Others believe that if some leader or person recognized on a certain occasion, said something that was captured on video, and maybe it was a mistake or maybe he said something out of context and could even have said something based on ignorance, because at last and Cape never ends or is left to learn. But according to many, that also makes it a "false prophet"

On the other hand, others seem to be super obsessed with discovering who he is and who is not a "false prophet" So much so that they behave like maniacs, detailing every word, gesture or movement.

Which in the personal sense seems very strange to me, because those who do this, seem more fans of the "false prophets" than true believers of God, and ironically give more promotion what they are supposedly against , that to God himself.

The point is that ...

There is everything, and especially social networks are not always used properly.

But on the other hand, Jesus basically what he is emphasizing is:

  • Who are your references?
  • Who are you learning from?
  • Who are you constantly listening to?
  • Who are you allowing him to be your leader or spiritual guide?

What Jesus is saying in this same part is ... It is not and will not be so easy to identify these "false prophets" so Jesus says, "Pay attention to their fruits, or to their results" of what they do, their character, their actions.

Since a good tree of good fruit (It does not say: of perfect fruit, but yes, GOOD FRUIT)

And later, they encourage us to know and love Jesus more. To obey what Jesus teaches.

These are parameters that Jesus sometimes shares in his sermon: "ATTENTION TO WHOM YOU ARE LISTENING, TO WHOM YOU ARE FOLLOWING"

Not everyone whom some call "false prophets" means that they necessarily are. And not everyone whom they love in the Christian context, means that it is a voice worthy of following.

Jesus says: "Pay close attention"

This means that we should be astute when it comes to listening, observing, using your critical thinking, but also Your discernment

And in doing so, if you are going to share it with others, do it with PRUDENCE not lightly, not only because everyone is saying, or everyone is accusing a person, you will also do it without even having heard it before.

Because it is one thing to share an analysis about the teaching of this recognized person, to evaluate whether it is aligned with the Bibles teachings, to foster a constructive dialogue, for the welfare of the church.

And another thing is: GOSSIP

So ... that God gives us vision, cunning and wisdom, when it comes to knowing who to listen to and who not; who to follow and who not; who to ignore and who does not!

I like in the excerpt the part about good fruit and bad fruit from the tree. But what did He mean by that?

"There is no good tree that bears bad fruit, nor a bad tree that bears good fruit. 44 Every tree is known for its fruit: figs are not picked from the thorns, nor are grapes harvested from the bush. 45 The good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings out the good, and the wicked, out of the bad brings out evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks "(Luke 6: 43-45).

Therefore, we will know the prophet by what he speaks. What comes out of his mouth will give him away. He may, in every sense, appear clean and honest on the outside, but if deceit and falsehood are in his heart, this false teaching, false prophecy and other perversions of the truth will come out of his mouth. The fruit of a vine is the figs. The fruit of a grape is grapes.

The fruit of a prophet is his prophecy.
