God is a God of purpose. When God allows something adverse to come to the life of one of his children, it is because there is a purpose of God for that person.

When God allowed his own Son Jesus Christ to be brought to the cross in the midst of all the adversities Jesus went through, it was because God already had a purpose with his Son Jesus Christ, whose purpose was to save mankind from the curse of sin. .

Jesus went through painful adversities and full of suffering, to the point that his face had lost his human face. Why did God allow all this with his own Son? Because God's purpose was to show his love for man and for man to trust in God's love to recover the very essence of life, which was intimacy with God.

Why does God allow adversities in our lives?

The Lord uses adversity in the life of the believer for many purposes, and all are good in the end. Adversity serves to adjust to the image of Christ and becomes a bridge to deepen our relationship with Him.

Unfortunately, none of these claims can be made regarding non-believers, who are in a position of hostility and alienation before God. However, He loves all men and women, and wants each and every one of us to proceed to repentance.

God is whole and fair. He must judge and oppose sin. He allows both the saved and the unbelieving person to suffer the consequences of their voluntary acts of transgression. He acts decisively against sin, wishing everyone to repent of their sin and seek it wholeheartedly. That is the message of Lamentations, when Jeremiah concludes that the Lord does not want to afflict the sons of men forever (Lm 3, 31-33). He wants to show compassion and that is why it is up to us to turn to Him, trust Him and remember His goodness.

The Lord does not want adversity for his people; rather, it responds wisely and fairly to our actions and works to fulfill its purpose in our lives. Thank God, difficult times will last only the time necessary for Him to fulfill his purpose in us.
