Matthew 25: 1-13

Parable of the ten virgins
25 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were prudent and five were foolish.
3 The foolish ones, taking their lamps, did not take oil with them;
4 But the prudent took oil in their vessels, together with their lamps.
5 And the bridegroom delayed, they all nodded and fell asleep.
6 And at midnight there was a cry: Here comes the bridegroom; come out to receive him!
7 Then all those virgins got up and fixed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; because our lamps go out
9 But the prudent answered, saying, "That we may not lack ourselves and you, go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves."
10 But while they were going to buy, the husband came; and those who were ready went with him to the wedding; and the door closed.
11 Then the other virgins also came, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us!
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for you do not know the day or the hour when the Son of Man is coming.

The profound message contained in this parable narrated by Jesus should be preached more frequently in our times, not only because of its impressive eschatological aspect, but because of the important warning it leaves us.

This paper presents two types of believers, both very similar, because when speaking of virgins it means that both had sanctity and both were chosen. Both were in the same place, at the same time. Both had the same faith and the same hope, because they went together to look for the husband. Both had lamps, meaning that God had provided them with certain things. Both walked in the same direction or had the same doctrine, but in reality there was a big difference between one group and another. This same difference divides the Christian church today, it is about the level of oil or anointing that each one had.

Although all Christian churches agree on the basic beliefs, there is a great difference between a church without anointing and another saturated with the power of the Holy Spirit. One can be full of religion and another full of anointing. Without oil, there is no fire, without fire there is no light, and without light what there is is darkness. The nonexistent relationship with the Holy Spirit of some believers has condemned them to walk in darkness.

The last days are violent days, the same Bible declares that in this dispensation the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and only the violent take it away. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit to face the enemy, you will also need it to walk in this dense darkness that characterizes the final times. We will need the fire of the Spirit to light our way.

The foolish virgins did the same as the others, but with the wrong heart, they did not value the oil, so the husband said he did not know them. They had despised the Lord, had not valued His presence. They forgot the most important thing.

There is a generation that has learned to despise the presence of the Holy Spirit and God is displeased with many pastors, who have taught the people to blaspheme against Him, a sin that will not be forgiven.

Whoever wants a union has to pay a price. We must change our attitude about what we do while serving God, we must be sure that God is the main reason and reason for everything we do. Searching for His presence and the filling of His Spirit in our lives should be our true motivation every day.

We must understand that oil is the symbol of the Spirit of God that separates us from the world, consecrates us, purifies us and sanctifies us. So the purification sacrifices are no longer necessary, since the presence of the Holy Spirit makes that purification.

Word!

The presence of the anointing of the Holy Spirit in a Christian's life cannot be over-estimated, as it has great roles to play. A man without the anointing is like a car without fuel. So, children of God, if you must enjoy and fulfill your ministry here on earth, then you will have to desire for the anointing. Anointing in a man's life takes away struggles.

It is the anointing that breaks the yoke!

It is the anointing in us that makes us shine in the thickest darkness.

Anointing: The biblical term anointing is understood as applying oil or other fat by smearing it. By extension it was also understood as washing, cleaning or consecrating for a purpose.

The Spirit of the Lord sanctifies us. Just as bathing and feeling clean gives us joy, and we even sing, so also feeling clean of sin fills us with spiritual joy, so the Holy Spirit is the Oil of spiritual joy.

Luke 4:18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me (with oil) to give good news to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted; To proclaim liberty to the captives, and sight to the blind; to release the oppressed. "

The ancients also used olive oil, ingested or smeared, as a medicinal ingredient. Whether in swelling, pain or injury, olive oil was an essential element in the remedies of the time. In the teaching of the good Samaritan that is observed.

The anointing oil, mentioned 20 times in the Scriptures, was used in the Old Testament to pour on the head of the High Priest and his descendants and to sprinkle the Tabernacle and its furnishings to mark them as holy and set apart to Jehovah (Exodus 25: 6 Leviticus 8:30, Numbers 4:16). Three times it is called 'the anointing oil' and the Jews were strictly forbidden to reproduce it for personal use (Exodus 30: 32-33). The anointing oil recipe is found in Exodus 30: 23-24 and contained myrrh, cinnamon, and other natural ingredients. There is no indication that the oil or the ingredients had any supernatural power. On the contrary, the rigor of the guidelines for the creation of the oil was a proof of the obedience of the Israelites and a demonstration of the absolute holiness of God

OLIVE OIL AS FUEL

It was used as fuel for lamps. Thanks to the oil it was possible to illuminate the darkness. First in the Tabernacle, and then in the Temple, the lamps of the candelabrum were to burn with pure olive oil.

Leviticus 24: 2 "Command the children of Israel to bring you for the illumination pure oil of crushed olives, to burn the lamps continually."

Formerly the olives were poured into a stone deposit and that way they extracted the oil, which left through an opening to another container. That pure, virgin oil is used as fuel for the candelabrum in the Temple. And the Holy Spirit is the fuel of the candelabrum that represents your church.

The oil in the Bible has a symbolic and divine meaning, it represents the Holy Spirit and his actions. In 1 ° Samuel shows us that when the anointing oil came, the Holy Spirit also came upon David. Let's see what else the Word of God teaches us.

1 Samuel 16:13 "And Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren; and from that day forward the Spirit of the Lord came upon David. Samuel got up, and turned to Ramah. "

Excellent @darlenys01, our greatest commitment and responsibility on this earth is to seek the presence of God in our lives and make it a true reality.
Blessings.

Well said @darlenys01 we should always understand the reason why Jesus Christ allow the woman to pour oil on his feet. The need about this oil in our life and what it signifies in the biblical context
