Matthew 25: 1-13

Parable of the ten virgins
25 Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were prudent and five were foolish.
3 The foolish ones, taking their lamps, did not take oil with them;
4 But the prudent took oil in their vessels, together with their lamps.
5 And the bridegroom delayed, they all nodded and fell asleep.
6 And at midnight there was a cry: Here comes the bridegroom; come out to receive him!
7 Then all those virgins got up and fixed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us of your oil; because our lamps go out
9 But the prudent answered, saying, "That we may not lack ourselves and you, go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves."
10 But while they were going to buy, the husband came; and those who were ready went with him to the wedding; and the door closed.
11 Then the other virgins also came, saying: Lord, Lord, open to us!
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for you do not know the day or the hour when the Son of Man is coming.

The profound message contained in this parable narrated by Jesus should be preached more frequently in our times, not only because of its impressive eschatological aspect, but because of the important warning it leaves us.

This paper presents two types of believers, both very similar, because when speaking of virgins it means that both had sanctity and both were chosen. Both were in the same place, at the same time. Both had the same faith and the same hope, because they went together to look for the husband. Both had lamps, meaning that God had provided them with certain things. Both walked in the same direction or had the same doctrine, but in reality there was a big difference between one group and another. This same difference divides the Christian church today, it is about the level of oil or anointing that each one had.

Although all Christian churches agree on the basic beliefs, there is a great difference between a church without anointing and another saturated with the power of the Holy Spirit. One can be full of religion and another full of anointing. Without oil, there is no fire, without fire there is no light, and without light what there is is darkness. The nonexistent relationship with the Holy Spirit of some believers has condemned them to walk in darkness.

The last days are violent days, the same Bible declares that in this dispensation the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and only the violent take it away. If Jesus needed the Holy Spirit to face the enemy, you will also need it to walk in this dense darkness that characterizes the final times. We will need the fire of the Spirit to light our way.

The foolish virgins did the same as the others, but with the wrong heart, they did not value the oil, so the husband said he did not know them. They had despised the Lord, had not valued His presence. They forgot the most important thing.

There is a generation that has learned to despise the presence of the Holy Spirit and God is displeased with many pastors, who have taught the people to blaspheme against Him, a sin that will not be forgiven.

Whoever wants a union has to pay a price. We must change our attitude about what we do while serving God, we must be sure that God is the main reason and reason for everything we do. Searching for His presence and the filling of His Spirit in our lives should be our true motivation every day.
