Consequences

Genesis 34:2; and when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her and lay with her, and defiled her. Proverbs 1:10; my son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.

The World as scientist have made us come to know is round and revolves about itself aside going around the sun which also means that each point of the earth goes round and back to the same point over and over again. In the same vain life is comparable to the revolution of the earth, in that, our actions have consequences and that whatever we choose to do will eventually come back to us. When Shechem was defiling the daughter of Jacob he did not consider the possible consequences that could befall him and his people as a royal, and later that negligence cost him and his people so dearly.

For this reason Proverbs is advising as Christians to be mindful of sin, we are being admonished to avoid sinners and their enticement that me may not fall into it and end up with lots of negativities that we may not have signed up for. Every action you decide to take, every move you make should be one consented to by God and one that you can proudly stand by knowing that you did the right thing in the eyes of God and Man. Sin is everywhere now and very enticing but with God and the Holy directing the life you are surely to be able to overcome. May the Good Lord strengthen us today even as we endeavor to live a life worthy of emulation.
