The upcoming "Cherry Breaker" Hash (30-Oct)
It's an annual thing and it is meant to introduce new members as well as the changing of the guard so to speak as we change General Managers on a yearly basis. The location has been revealed a bit but it is still shrouded in mystery but the location so far looks incredible.
The "Cherry Breaker" is for the Bunny Hash, which in Chiang Mai is our women only Hash and there are a lot of benefits to being in this group, the main one being that they tend to have food at the Hash runs and the mens' and mixed runs almost never do.
Every year they will post some preview photos to give us an idea if the location they have chosen is going to be beautiful enough and well, even though we have only been allowed access to half a dozen photos, it already looks like a winner.
What's not to love about that? This is actually my favorite type of terrain because it does have some hills but nothing that is going to break your back or pose a slip and fall hazard which is something we need to be a bit careful about this time of year seeing as how the ground tends to be much more wet on account of it being rainy season and what not.
I know it is just a rice paddy, but for people like me, the beauty of these places never gets old, especially when there is a mountainous backdrop. SIDE NOTE: We need to be careful to never enter the rice paddies because this can damage the crop and since we are already trespassing the land owners would have a very real reason to want us out of here. If the ladies are doing their jobs properly, this will be pointed out to all in attendance.
They really didn't think the inclusion of this picture through because there are only about a half dozen places in the entire province where horse-riding is an attraction. Although Thai's like horses as much as the next nationality, they aren't very practical for any sort of farm use since off road motorcycles require significantly less oats in order to operate. Therefore, if you do happen to know the location because of this big reveal, keep it to yourself.
It remains to be seen if men will be allowed to attend this run and if they stick to their traditions properly the answer will be no but you happen to have the correct equipment downstairs (on your body) you are welcome to join them and the full details about how to get involved can be found on our website
Also there are two types of run on the Cherry Breaker, and one of them is 15 km long. There is a shorter one for all the walkers / lazy people. The fee for entry is also a bit larger at 700B but it also includes a commemorative T-shirt that will include your Hash Name on the final print. It's a great value, trust me. Since it is such a large event there are 3 hares for this one: Bushy Tail, Sweet Pea, and Dog Breath have done the honors in this very long and what is bound to be very exciting event this Friday, the 30th of October.
