Hello dear music lovers,
Today one of the greatest artists in music history is celebrating his birthday. I've been in Classic Rock's mood these past few weeks and this post today follows the trend.
Today is the birthday of Ian Anderson, the leadsinger of Jethro-Tull. The good man turns 71 today.
Through his band Jethro-Tull he has introduced many new elements. The most important of these elements is the flute in rock music.

heute feiert einer der größten Künstler der Musikgeschichte sein Geburtstag. Ich war die letzten Wochen in Classic Rock Stimmung und dieses Beitrag heute folgt den Trend.
Heute ist das Geburtstag von Ian Anderson, den Sänger von Jethro-Tull. Der gute Mann wird heute 71.
Durch seine Band Jethro-Tull hat er viele Elemente eingeführt. Das wichtigste von diesen Elemente ist die Flöte in die Rock Musik.
He also played guitar but allegedly after a Eric Clapton concert he gave it up and focused on the flute. It was the best decision in my opinion. Without this, we would not have such a well-known Jethro Tull today. Jethro Tull was actually a man born at the end of the 17th century who modernized agriculture in England.
Er hat auch Gitarre gespielt aber angeblich nach einem Eric Clapton Konzert hat er es aufgegeben und sich auf die Flöte konzentriert. Es war meiner Meinung nach die beste Entscheidung. Ohne die, hätten wir heute kein so bekanntes Jethro Tull. Jethro Tull war eigentlich ein Mann der Ende des 17 Jh. geboren worden ist und die Landwirtschaft in England modernisiert hat.
The music they play is varied, from jazz to rock you can find a lot of connectionns.
Die Musik die sie spielen ist vielfältig, von Jazz bis Rock kann man sehr viele Verknüpfungen finden.
If we speak of different music genres, a very good example are their live concerts like this one in Switzerland.
Wenn man von verschiedene Musik Richtungen spricht, ein sehr gutes Beispiel sind ihre Live Konzerte wie dieses in der Schweiz.

@alexvan, yeah I agree with you, this is a man we should all live to celebrate because we need more legends like him in the Rock world to inspire and motivate the young generation and as well, we should not wait till he is too old to jubilate with us this wonderful day with him, happy birthday Ian!
Jethro Tull hat auch mich in meiner Jugend begleitet. War eine sehr wichtige Band.
Jethro Tull - eine meiner Lieblingsbands, von der ich noch die meisten LP's habe! Ich habe sie einmal live in Kiel gesehen vor etwa 40 Jahren. Da ist Ian Andersen so quirlig über die Bühne gehörst, dass er danach ein bisschen humpelte. Das Konzert ging fröhlich weiter... Dankefür deinen Artikel Alex.
I saw Jethro Tull live in late 90s in Barcelona. Ian Anderson us a great frontman. But those days he was about 50 years old. Don't know if he has the same energy with 71, but sure they are still playing those great songs in their best.
Aqualung is one of the best albums in rock history.
