I feel like resteem helps reputation but am not certain of that. I do not have the evidence for it at the moment to prove it. But I see my reputation go up maybe more when I am resteeming more often. But I know reputation comes from people curating your posts and comments and resteeming helps get more people to go to your stuff... so it kind of indirectly helps....
