We've all heard how beneficial reading is, BUT did modern times give birth to something better?

Has reading been replaced?

That's a weird question to ask. Isn't it? Of course it hasn't been completely replaced, but there are other methods of obtaining information now, that offer us easier access\convenience in our ever growing hectic lives. Like for example, listening to an audio books has allowed us to multitask while still being immersed in a story, or even educational literature. You can literally gain an education while operating a piece of heavy machinery; while driving a car. You sure were never able to read while doing that. Haha

Now we have these things called podcasts, that are readily available for an unlimited body of subjects and entertainment. Reading is still an essential thing in all of our lives, but its something that requires our undivided attention. I think that these alternative methods give us a huge advantage that the world has never seen before. If utilized the right way, this could easily branch off into a revolutionarily impactful tool for humans to grow and learn from one another.

Super Hero Status:

Jordan Peterson explains beautifully, what I touched on above. A man of his intellectual stature\articulation, makes me feel like a dumbass, but I'm sure glad we have a mind like his actively thinking about things for the rest of humanity.

Watch this short clip of what he has to say on this subject.

You're most likely to succeed in life if we know how to read, but if you know how to read between the lines and having a critical thinking processes the way you read have much more probability you will succeed in life. Many people knows how to read but they never have critical thinking process the way they read stuff, so it's pointless and just a waste of time reading without critical thinking.

I can agree with you on that. If you don't grasp what you are reading its not really doing you any good then, is it?

reading is nothing but feeding a new things to our brain . it is just like updating ourselves. we should do that. if we don't update a computer for years it is outdated the same happens with us if we don't read new things and acquire the knowledge we require.
