Quote of the Day #46: Your Only Competition Is Yesterday!
That person in the mirror is your best friend, not your enemy!
Everyday we ‘think’ that we face the harsh facts that we have to craft better deals, be quicker to the draw and outwit others in a mad dash to victory. This could not be further from the truth. The competition that we feel we are up against is a fake created construct that we manufacture out of perceived necessity. We are our own worst enemies when it comes to competition, simply because trying to one up everybody else may seem like a good thing. This is a bad thing. We are in a continuous loop of awesomeness, let me explain that a bit. The loop I speak of is the circle of life, we go through highs & lows, ups & downs, you know the drill. We may have work projects and contracts get approved, we may have accounts be terminated and we may have a stroke of dumb luck on a scratch off lottery ticket. When it all comes down to it, and the sun goes down, we are the ones we are in competition with, not anybody else. Just think about it, step out from all of that preconceived bullshit and realize that other people have nothing on you, nothing. Observe others, see what works, what doesn’t and apply that to yourself, your business and your lifestyle. Never try to outdo, outshine, or steamroll somebody to a pretend victory. It will leave you further behind than if you just went about it as I mentioned before.
