Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

This is the first question from a collection I found years ago. This questionnaire is designed to progressively increase the level of intimacy and self-disclosure, with the theoretical goal of making two people fall in love. There are many factors included like physical closeness, but we won't get beyond simply sharing answers.

I'll try to answer as many as I can and I think it will be a fun little experiment. If you want, you can also answer the question in the comment section, see if we fall in love. Lol. (I doubt it but why not do it anyway?)

The first question is the one in the title:

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

I'm thinking not Dracula, definitely. Who knows what kind of ideas he might get and I'd end up dead or turned into a zombie. If we can go back in time and into myth and fiction, I would pick something like God, Satan, Adam & Eve, Buddha, and outside the realm of fiction, I may have a go with Hitler, see what's going on in his head.

But outside the realm of fiction, it's harder, because I'm not really that intimate with the goings-on of the world. Presidents and public figures are usually just talkative, nothing really genius in them compared to those who become famous for something they did like Gandhi or Einstein, but even then, their ideas were more interesting than the people themselves.

That's probably a bit prejudicial and I'd be able to find more about them in person (or just about the way they interacted), so maybe one of those two, the great influencers of history.

I'd also like to meet Cleopatra, though language barriers may separate us. If we could somehow talk, I think that Cleopatra and Nefertiti may be perfect fits for dinner conversation. My plan would be to tactfully introduce the topic of how women were viewed in these eras and how they managed to get to power. I'd also like a round of jokes to see how different or similar our senses of humour are.

And if we're talking about the realm of today, not being able to cross the barriers of time and fiction, Natalie Portman would be my choice. She does fit with the talkative kind I mentioned before, but I've seen interviews and she's a kind and nice person, and to be honest, which I'm always reluctant to be in the open, she's been my idol ever since I watched her performance in V for Vendetta.

Even though she's a public figure, she's really smart and talented in many respects. In certain aspects, I identify a lot with her, and in others, I feel like I could improve and make an effort to become more, especially by following her example in many things.

I'd like to note that nobody is perfect, which is obvious, but it needs to be said. All of the people I mentioned probably have tremendous faults, as well as virtues, and there is room to criticise anyone despite their greatness, or to admire someone despite their infamy. But in any case and despite their attributes, having anyone I mentioned at dinner would probably lead to interesting discoveries. :)
