A NEW DEVICE THAT CAN DIAGNOSE 17 DISEASES FROM THE SMELL OF YOUR BREATH!!!

A scientist in Israel invented a device called Na-Nose that can detect illness in patients just by their breath. It is similar looking to the breathalyzer the Police department's use for detecting impaired driver's. It's said to have an 86 percent accuracy. It works by distinguish illness because it pick's up " Volatile organic compounds" that is emitted in a person's breath.

According to the researcher's 17 conditions all resulted in 13 specific compounds being released, but all have their own patterns. Each disease has it's own unique breath print. Some of the illness it can detect is Parkinson's, multiple Sclerosis, kidney disease, prostate cancer, Crohns and Ovarian cancer among others.

The Na-nose was tested on about 1,400 patients in different countries and have detected accurately 9 out of 10 times. It is also made to detect more then one disease at a time in the same person. The device imitates human's or dog's sense of smell to analyze a patient's breath. One of it's potential of the Na-Nose is to detect early illness in it's early stages.

The survival rate with someone who was diagnosed with lung cancer fact has a rise in survival rates from 10% to 70%. It's a fact that a patient produces nearly four times as much acetic acid in healthy people. Scientists are hopeful that the Na-Nose device will be on the market soon.
