Why Cleaning Up Your Room Is A Metaphor For Changing The World

in #psychology6 years ago (edited)

He gives simple advice such as this: "If you feel bad, clean your room" and The University of Toronto tenured professor and psychologist Jordan Peterson explains why:

Change begins from the inside

He says that change begins from the inside out. If you want to change the world, start by cleaning your room, and that will make a change in your life which will spread out to your outer world.

It's worth a try. At the least, your mom or roommate or spouse will be happy, and you will be able to find your other sock. At best, you can go on to change the world!

The state of your room = the state of your mind

Organize your landscape and start on the road to right action!` "Your room is an externalization of your mind", says Peterson.

Compare how you feel before you clean your room, and after you clean it up to see if this rings true for you!

Your sock drawer will thank you!

Wow nice post I like keeping my room clean because it feels good to be clean on the inside and on the outside keep your room clean today it feels good to do so.

It's true. Works every time for me. Keep the dishes clean. Little things add up to big changes in life. Thanks for the inspiration.

Me too! Like they say when a plant isn't growing, you change it's environment and it grows!
