Benefits to Start Using Bitshares Decentralized Exchange to Exchange Crypto and Keep Crypto Portfolio Safe instead of Using Centralized Exchanges Like Bittrex Poloniex or Others

Hi Steemians,

Many of you for sure know about Bitshares (This link will let them now I referred you), and all its qualities and advantages.

For those who know a lot about Bitshares, it will be great you can add more in the comments below. Today I will focus on explaining about 3 important things about Bitshares.

1- The greatness of its decentralized exchange
2- The low fees of transactions
3- The in-built wallet

1- The greatness of its decentralized exchange

Bitshares with its decentralized exchange gives as the possibility to trade between several important pairs like (BTC and ETH, BTC and LTC, and many others) as well as (BTS with Steem, BTS with SBD, BTS with BTC ETH and LTC) and many more, and its adding more over time. It also has Smartcoins, that are bitUSD, bitCNY and others, that are very stable and are pegged to 1 USD as much as possible. (More on Smartcoins in a future post).
Nobody controls our funds, our crypto is always on our control.

2- The low fees of transactions

When signing up with the Bitshares basic membership, the exchange has very low fees for trading. There are also some extra fees from the networks of each specific crypto that are added. This can be seen when placing an order.

It also offers the possibility to get a lifetime membership and its very low right now compared to months ago. Now its around 113 bts which is $30 USD at the time of writting. With this membership fees go even lower, just marginal.

3- The in-built wallet

Bitshares as an in-built wallet with a decentralized exchange brings the main advantage that you are always the owner of your crypto in the sense you don't leave it with a third party centralized exchange. You have your wallet and when you want to exchange, it shows your balance on the pair and you just decide on the amount and price you want to pay, same as on any centralized exchange.

This is a great advantage, because your funds can't be frozen, you are always in control of them.

Kneeling at the Church of Dan...absolutely.

I own myself some of this too....BTS and STEEM are the ones that are going to really explode in my (hopeful) view.

@dan created some good stuff with these blockchains.

I totally agree with you @taskmaster4450 ! All these are ecosystems that have life by themselves and will improve with the speed of light in the coming months and years!

What I find interesting @gold84 is that many are starting to spread the FUD about EOS coming out and that STEEM and Bitshares need to get going and take advantage of the window of opportunity. Many are making like EOS is going to wipe STEEM and BTS off the planet. I do not think that was @dan's intention. BTS wasnt eliminated when he brought out STEEM.

EOS is going to be a wonderful blockchain, and one that BTS will interact with according to @stan. Yet I just dont see @dan trying to set them up to compete with each other. I could be wrong but it only makes sense.

I believe EOS will be part of the ecosystem, Steem, BTS and EOS. There should not be competition. Steem is the first and will be the best blockchain for social media, and the main reason I think of this is that developers many of the best are on the steem blockchain and will stay here until it goes up were it deserves. Lots of efforts have already been placed and are placed everyday on the steem blockchain.

I believe that STEEM will be the social media blockchain...there is simply too much already in development to turn back. Each day D.tube gets bigger with more videos uploaded. Zappl is getting stronger and we all await the updates on steemit.com which should be out shortly (we hope).

Overall there is nothing to worry about. STEEM is going to see incredible numbers in the future. We just need some of the things talked about to make it out of development.

Exactly! Steemit.com is going to announce the hardfork 20 or who is incharge of this?

I honestly do not know who is responsible for the hard fork.

I imagine that is the STEEM developers who could be different from the steemit developers since they are two different entities...

Although they might be one in the same for all I know.

Decentralized Exchanges will be a key 2018 initiative that will demonstrate the strength of the crypto asset class. I think volumes on these exchanges will outpace those of centralized exchanges.
