On my first article talking about the effect of Bid bot to the Steemit community, I saw few comments in which I picked interest on.

Good morning, I’m @raymondbruce the founder of steemit_extention and the co-founder of the offline minnow school.

Steemit_extention is a project setup for the purpose of promoting steemit on facebook and depopulating the kingdom of facebook.

while

The offline minnow school is a project organized to assist and mentor minnows on steemit, through an offline and online class for minnows and promote steemit by organizing campaigns and meetups, currently we have produced over 100 minnows and mentoring about 30 of them.

What is Bid bot?

A Bid bot is piece of software designed to complete a minor but repetitive task automatically or on command, especially when operating with the appearance of a (human) user profile or account.

Bid bots on steemit are designed to sell upvote.

How does it work?

The user is required to send certain amount of SBD or Steem to the bot using their post link as the memo and the Bot will automatically upvote that article.

What do you think About this concept?

On my previous article I stated that Bid bots on Steemit are not bad but there are been used to ignoring the first thing every Steem promoter preaches- "quality and value for reward"

The system of quality for value is dying on Steemit and this is the only hope for the minnows. If promoters can't promise interested individuals quality for reward anymore, how are we to promote Steemit now to those that are not financial capable?

Few comments from the previous article

Those are thoughts from other steemians

Everything in life has advantages and disadvantages. The Bid bot has it's own advantage, it was meant to be used to promote valuable articles to get to the eyes of many.
But now it is been abused by most of us, using it to promote articles that are not worth it to trending.

This has a psychological effect on minnows- Just imagine you dropping an article in which you make tons of research, spend hours typing, using a well guilde markdown style and at the end of the day the article gets like $1. You the go to trending and see stuffs like - my new car, selfie, and a plate of food getting $50-100.
Imagine how discouraging that is.

My advice to minnows or newly registered members Is to keep off from the use of bid bots.
it is a perfect way of building your reputation, yes but if you making use of bid-bots.

  • When no bid bot, no upvotes because you will end up not having any curator on your side
  • It will definitely cut your rewards
  • it shows desperation
  • it makes you feel relaxed that you will not see any point in dropping quality articles.

As a minnow this is the time you need to be most serious on steemit, this is the time you should show the community what you have in you, this is the time to bring out the beast in you.
Believe it or not people are watching, the upvotes may not be coming in but people are watching and taking notes.
So now is the time in your steemit life you have to add value to the community and your blog.

conclusion

Bid bots are not bad but it but I think they are being abused or not used for the right reasons.

Steemit community is meant toreward quality and valuable articles, so what we are to be expecting on trends are most or top valuable and quality articles.
But due to the help of bid-bots reverse is the case.

If this is not taken to consideration the number of active users will decrease, just individuals capable of making use of those bots will remain.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm @raymondbruce
