The Incredible First Ever Steemit Team Uganda Discord Voice Chat Discussion Details....It was Productive...

I am really amazed of what discord chat voice channels can achieve,i have always participated in many voice channel discussions,but never organised one for our Ugandan team

No words can describe the excitement i have after discussing many stuff for our Ugandan Steemit team,in a nutshell...it was wonderful.

I created the Steemit Team Uganda Discord channel sometime back,buyout has not been very productive!

It so happens that many people just drop their post links and that's all,most people had not seen the other beauty of discord until yesterday.

I have always told people to use discord, but many used to give the excuse that .....they do not know go to use it.....!!!(like there is a school for reaching how to use discord 🙆🙆).

I created the Steemit Whatsapp group before the discord channel and it's what a usually use,unfortunately we can't do audio conference calls on it.

I have always told guys to use discord but in vain.I would love to thank @musamalijames who initiated and stuck on the idea yesterday to use discord chat.

We have an influx of new users to our community of late and we wanted a waycti help them out.Most of them gave complaints in the whatsap group!

We decided to organise a time for us all to meet in our discord chat.We had organised for the chat to begin at 8:30 pm Ugandan time, but only 3 guys were available!!!

We had many challenges but never the less some people connected and we had a productive discussion as can be seen from the first image above.

Agenda for the Meeting

You cannot believe it looked liked a real meaning as we had even an agenda as I will write below(some wanted even to be our secretary hahaha).

1. Opening Prayer led by @mwamin7

2. General introductions by each one present

3. How to Retain the New users

This was a broad topic that was discussed in detail.Among the solutions was for each old member to put at least 2 or 3 people in auto-vote(so that new members can at least have 0.5$ on their posts !).

We also discussed that each person who signs a newbie should accept to be their mentor and tell them the basics.

We agree to tell the new members to learn how to comment so that they can create relationships as I stated in my article here.

It is ironic that no new member attended this meeting....!! Most of them had never heard of the word discord as you saw from one of the whatsapp screenshots above!

I am sure they will join us next time as we shall brief them of the advantages of discord chat and what can be achieved with it.

4. Meet Venue and Date.

We also discussed of when we need to organise a meet up so that we can mentor these newbies physically.It was among the methods discussed above of retaining new people.

We were stuck on two dates i.e. 26/05/2018 and 2/6/2018. We weighed in the cons and pros of each day and finally agreed to meet up on 26/05/2018 which is a few days from now.

The venue was not yet confirmed and it will be told to us by @ireneblessing today(as she promised).We shall them pass info of re meet up after having all details .

5. AOB

We discussed if the upcoming Africa Blockchain event that will be in Kampala from 23-24 May to be graced by our own President.We discussed of ways of how we can attend.

The discussion was supposed to be for 30 mins......but went on for close to 2 hours....!!
