To rephrase recent missives from ETH and DOGE creators (linked here via CCN):
Here I may note that some will dismiss Vitalik Buterin's message as symptom of sour grapes, but it should be noted that others have realyed this message well before him, in April this year in fact.
But what does this mean for an average Steemian? The gauntlet has been thrown and the hardest push for adoption starts here --this means that if you wish to see STEM grow and prosper, you must get more involved with its supporting projects RIGHT NOW!

A very simple way to start is by following @witnesspage to track witness activity. From there on I implore you to read, comment and vote to support the people who are the very literal backbone of STEEM. Prepared to commit slightly more attention to STEEM? Dive into #promo-steem!
The next easy but important step is to start checking out and recommending alternative STEEM interfaces, follow their developers:
- @good-karma ( #esteem )
- @steem-plus (a browser extension that improves steemit)
- @partiko (android app)
There are more expansive interface/client lists -- I'm haredly the first to write about them. If you chose one already, give another one a test -- it could be the tool that makes all the difference to you and the community.
These are the little things a non-developer or even an irregular poster can do to help STEEM. I'm just starting out on this road myself and there's tons of useful stuff to find on STEEM -- let's get motviated to learn about STEEM a little more every day!
