LONDON : Steemians, the coolest kids on the Block..chain, the London Cryptocurrency Show

As many of you may have seen already, there was a London Cryptocurrency Show here in London on Saturday and of course, @buttpacker was in attendance!

The Pre-drinks

The show actually kind of started the night before for us already as @starkerz messaged last minute asking us to help with the setting up and/or join for a drink in the evening.

Unfortunately we were busy that afternoon but managed to swing by for a few drinks with a few awesome steemians like @redrica, @wehmoen, @adetorrent, @ashtv, not to mention #Promo-steem’s very own @anarcotech and @stephenkendal (and @starkerz of course). It was so wonderful to learn about @utopian-io over a few drinks and of course, meet the brains behind the operation who have been dedicating so much time and effort preparing for and promoting the London Cryptocurrency Show! We even got to have a little private tour around the venue and got to check out the stand too.

The PARTTAYYYY

Next morning we were due back at the hotel at 9:30 AM. Despite the early start and 3 hours of sleep (we are NOT morning people...and we stayed up really late the night before working on Mouthgasm #5) it was SO worth it and we made it just in time to listen to a few more of the steemit talks and learning more about some steem projects.

We were just in time to catch @dunsky's presentation on esteem - we had been looking for a steemit app for a while, and it looks like our prayers have been answered! We can't wait to try it out and be able to access our steemit account with ease when on our phones! Also the graphics on his presentation were just amazing, such a talented graphics designer!

@anarcotech also enlightened us on what STACH was and I don't have a photo of this, but we also heard a lot more about @utopian-io from @techslut - such an exciting project that we can't wait to get involved in!

We also don't seem to have a photo of this, but @howo and @fredrikaa gave a really insightful presentation about steempress - a nifty little wordpress plugin that can steemify any post with ease! We are actually working on launching our content on our website buttpacker.com. We actually bought the domain about a year ago, but the prospect of actually setting up the website has been so daunting we keep delaying… Nonetheless we are pushing to have it up in less than a month, so we’re actually super glad to have heard the presentation as we now have a better idea of how it works and can make great use of it in the future!

@allasyummyfood gave a fantastic speech about her journey as a content creator and the benefits of posting on steemit. I really liked seeing the comparisons between engagement on Facebook vs. Steemit, and of course all that foodporn, we almost couldn’t contain ourselves (but we were on our best behaviour :D which was also why we didn’t bust out our inflatable penis costume…) Anyway, she absolutely rocked the presentation and exuded so much confidence - Alla, you have no reason to be nervous for any future presentations! ;)

Last but not least, @mrs.steemit opened our eyes to @appics - a super fascinating new social media platform which unfortunately won’t be released until Q3 yet (much to our disappointment as we wanted to jump on it IMMEDIATELY), BUT they are currently in round C of their ICO so there really is no better time to start getting involved already. Not to mention that with all the recent Facebook drama, it seems as if appics has great potential of being the social media platform of the future. We definitely cannot wait to be active users!

OH! Forgot to mention, @buttpacker's very own Norma also gave an outstanding presentation on the importance of butts and prime butt content on steemit, and we're currently working on launching our very own BUTTCOIN! Pre-sales are starting soon, you can start by just sending us SBD/STEEM and then we'll discuss the rest with you later. (See, this is what happens when you spend too much time with Nigerian princes! Stop corrupting us @adetorrent !!!)

After the talks, there was just a lot of mingling and getting to know everyone better. There was such an amazing turn out and the steemit stand was always buzzing with people! This was great as I bet it really showed all the other stands and the potential investors just what a bubbly community steemit has- steemians truly are the cool kids of crypto!

A big thank you to @breadcentric who presented us with the most beautiful and dank smelling loaf of bread ever. Seriously, our tastebuds were horny without us even trying it. Unfortunately, our loaf of bread mysteriously disappeared, and we are still so heartbroken over the tragic vanishing of our bread baby. I wonder whether someone may have “accidentally taken” it? You can come forward and let us know, we won’t get mad :) (but we will hunt you down and take it back…EVEN IF YOU'VE EATEN IT ALREADY!!!)

It was awesome to finally meet @ultravioletmag - didn't know that she was a fashion photographer so it was so great to know more about what's it like to have a career in one of my (many) childhood dreams. Finally got the chance to stalk her work yesterday and she has produced some amazing work!

One of the greatest thing about the London Cryptocurrency show was having the opportunity to actually speak to the people behind all these steem projects and gaining a better understanding of them, since you can literally ask the creator(s) any question! Here's some of the @utopian-io team : @elear, @roxane and of course @techslut - we sure had a little bonding sesh over the greatness of our handles ;) BUTTS AND SLUTS FOR THE WIN!

@techslut even gifted us with this lovely keychain, which Aleks absolutely loved as he has a necklace (and t-shirt) with the lucky hamsa. Thank you!

The steemit stand was literally where the party was at as it was always swarming with steemians and people. Heck, even the people from other stands were curious what all the fuss was about. Here's @thehipsterguru chatting away with @flaneuse - our friend and flatmate who we've recently roped into steemit and the cryptofair as well. She's still really new to the platform so do give her photography some love when you get the chance!

Had some lovely chats with @gillianpearce who gave us some more insights on aspects of the platform that we were less knowledgeable on - this is one of the many reasons why we love attending steemit meetups and meeting steemians in real life. Not only do we get to connect with the community in the flesh, but as total newbie minnows in this big pond, we can also learn more about certain features of the platform which we haven't really wrapped our heads around yet. (Still can't stop thinking about your gorgeous earrings Gillian!)

Aside from mingling with steemians there was also plenty of opportunity to check out the other stands - for example there was this super powerful looking mining rig!

The After-party

After the show, @allasyummyfood had reserved a space for us in the hotel bar upstairs for more steemit banter over some much- needed drinks!

Hey there @eroche and @steevc !

Overall the event was definitely a massive success as it brought so many steemians together, and we got to show other crypto investors just how fabulous we all are! A big thank you to the pioneers of #promo-steem for all their hard work and organising everything. Seems like there's going to be another event like this in October and we know we absolutely cannot wait!

Back in the 2000’s there were online forums, where people would bond over various topics, know each other’s online nicknames and meet up in real life once in a while to further strengthen their online community and forge meaningful friendships. We are looking forward to more meetups and more friendships. Until we meet again, see you in the comment section !
