Blogging on Steemit is not necessarily about content like most of you have been caused to believe; the whole essence of content creation is the expectation that there’s a community that appreciates every piece of work we put out there…
Countless times, I've seen steemians make one major mistake that redefines and takes for granted the totality of their efforts. That particular mistake is in the passive thought that most think that content supersedes community when in fact it is the community that supersedes the quality of the contents we put up here.

steemit is not about what you write, it’s about the community that appreciate your works…

This is one of the most fundamental lessons I learnt from @ejemai during the time when I first met him was the importance of community over content.

Contents exist for community not community existing for content

We have to be good with community; not only that, we also have to literally look for that point where we fit in perfectly. That means that, in our quest trying to be good content creators, we must not allow ourselves to be carried away by the prowess of our intellectual works forgetting that contents don't read themselves; knowing that there’s a need in the heart of every reader and each line should be an attempt to meet such needs. Hence, we have to make every effort to see that we create our contents having the need of a community that should willingly engage with it.

Effort put in is always proportional to effort put out. That's one other lesson I learnt from this amazing community. A steemian friend and mentor would say;

you can’t get out any more than you have put in.

If you really care to make that difference with your blog while sharing your personal life, expertise and experience, you have to appreciate the fact that;
You may have all it takes to independently create quality contents, but you sure need people (community) to read it for you and appreciate them.

The delight of fulfillment for every writer comes in the fact that you have an audience who actually appreciates your works and that is reciprocal. You have to give before you receive such. It’s left for you to know what your gift to your community ought to be. And that will be quite impossible if you fail to engage each and every time you ought to. Simply put, engagement is reciprocal on steemit when it comes to dealing with communities!

From this day onward, I would like you to make a commitment to meet the needs of other content creators within your community and never look down on any. This is Bait and I'm gladly bringing you word from the offline minnow school.

For those who seek to know what this project is all about, you can read that below;

PHASE 1:

At this stage, we teach some minnows at our offline classroom to help attain self-sustenance. These minnows will then work with us as a team, reproducing other minnows. Currently, we have just wrapped up with Phase 1. And Phase 2 which is more demanding kicked off already. We have already recorded a track which you’ll find @theminnowschool. We are also in the process of recording a next track but the negotiation is still ongoing.

PHASE 2:

This basically is the core of the vision is to raise steem-backed entrepreneurs of young people. The method through which we execute the absolute idea goes as follows;

  • SKILL ACQUISITION PROJECTS: where various skills will be taught to foster the emergence of new entrepreneurs that thrive on voluntarism.

  • THE MINNOW SCHOOL TALENT HUNT: we greatly hope to give minnows who are not really writers but have other gifts such as singing, painting, dancing, acting a platform to express themselves and get their creativity beyond their minds. Basically, we are giving these young people a voice and ultimately awaken the writer in them.

  • THE MINNOW SCHOOL ART/MUSIC EXHIBITIONS: here talented young people will get to showcase their talents and the value they have to offer to the community. We will be sponsoring art projects and professional music careers will emerge with this.

Sort:

This is apt and well structured. While we try to create good contents, we have to be conscious of the fact that the contests do not read themselves. It is in having the adequate audience to one's blog that actually defines the worth and value of the blog. We all have to learn the balance.

That's the focal point @uyobong... looking for balance now and that's the key
