I have come across several posts saying that they foolishly gave their active keys to phishing scams and lost everything but their STEEM POWER.
As I understand, there is no reason to give your active keys to any program other than steemit.com and steemit related keychains.
When giving your key to a keychain, you should do so only from the official sites ... never trust the scripts in popup windows.

I agree that you should guard your private keys and question the need to give them to any website.
