You are right, many times as teachers we must give all of us so that students can understand and learn in the best possible way, but it is also true that some tests or tests are not necessarily reliable to measure that knowledge. I usually apply several methods one that has worked for me is to give the class and I have specific movies where they help to better understand the given topic, so I ask questions that are related to the topic and send to see a movie to answer the question.

That is what we should always pursue as teachers that we are the main objectives is to seek that the student understands what we are explaining, apply various methods or strategies where the student can identify with the knowledge we want to impart, it seems to me super that method you use.
