Many politicians do ignore history, especially when it conflicts with their ambitions. And there is a certain arrogance in humans that says, “this time is different, so history doesn't apply in this situation.” And that arrogance and overconfidence sometimes leads to wars. When I write, I try to convey different perspectives, because they are important for people to compromise...so as to avoid war.
