Prayerful Beginnings

Prayers I never really understood,
But even so I prayed for you.
I prayed for a love so great and strong,
I wondered if you were even in view.
Then one day it seemed my prayers were answered,
It was the day you ran into me.
What felt so harsh and painful at first,
Became everything I hoped it would be.
Our lives quickly became entangled,
Inseparable was an easy task.
You knew my thoughts before I spoke,
Questions answered before being asked.
And now here we are, blessed together still,
And our story is just beginning.
If the next chapter of our lives is as good as this,
I will sit back and keep on grinning.
