"QuillFire Roast or Toast" Contest (A Shakespeare sonnet Parody)
Image edited in Pixiz.com
To Katie, for being a good Jiminy Cricket
To Toast or Roast Quill, therein lies the dilemma
Shall I roast thee in a winter’s day?
Thou ain’t more vexing than most Steemians:
Tough whales do shake your inner Mr. Grey,
As Socrates’ scoff didn’t sit well with Athenians.
Sometime too smart your eye for leaven prides,
And often is your pale complexion brimmed;
on every baked argument usually inclines,
verbose, or articulate but never, untrimmed.
Let this first birthday wane not your fame
Nor lose possession of that pair thou ow’st
Nor shall whales brag thou wand’est in their shade,
When in eternal comments thou grow’st.
So long as Steemit breathes or eyes can see,
So long lives Quill, and Quill gives life to thee.
Dear Steemians, this was my two cents for @quillfire's 1st Steemit Birthday celebration contest. I have nothing but praise and gratitude for this funny and smart guy who once asked me, with the politeness that characterizes him, to get my analytical ass and take it to his posts. It was a challenge to read his posts and never-ending comments, let alone to provide any smart commentary. It has been a blast so far and I really appreciate Quill's insights and generous praise. He has tried to really establish communities of people who want a great platform and offer nothing but quality content and ideas.
Not having the talent to write high poetry, I decided to parody one of Shakespeare's most famous sonnets (Shall I compare thee to a summer's day). I hope Quill and family can enjoy it, as well as you all, my dear readers.
¿Cómo se te ocurre este post, apreciado Lezama! Tanta tentación o provocación para quien no puede. Je, je, je. Buen disfrute y deleite te diste.
