Segundo reza a história ainda no século 19, as freiras do Convento Cisterciense de Cós transmitiram a receita do famoso pão de ló a D. Amália Grilo, matriarca de uma família de Alfeizerão, que começou a fabricá-lo por encomenda para os nobres de Alfeizerão e da Região (Alcobaça, Leiria)
Assim nasceu o Café Ferreira em 1947
