This is my entry for the 7 Days Portrait Photography Contest by @flamingirl DAY 2. This handsome subject of my photo is my surf coach and good friend Josue aka Rasta. He is a surfer, lyricist rapper and absolute advocate of the ‘Puravida’ lifestyle.

Not getting placed on Day 1 of this contest just made me want to try harder on Day 2. As the saying goes, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again.” I shall keep entering as long as I am able. I love these photo competitions and applaud @flamingirl for her hard work and constant inspiration here on Steemit. I was surprised only 14 of us took part yesterday... I shall be expecting many more today!!!

Although I love the original colour photo I took, I choose to submit this photo in monochrome as I feel it draws the focus even more to the eyes and their beautiful expression.
