Populous – Through the Looking Glass!
It is confusing when we are met with a set of random numbers or letters, jibberish or gobbledygook is what we call them. To many this is certainly true, but to the few it is a treasure trove!
These numbers make up the digital world we live in and we see these numbers as images. Steve broke free of the Matrix and from the outside looking in, he saw 1’s and 0’s that told a different story.
Down the Rabbit Hole
It has been a long time since the pre-ICO, a period filled will Fear, Uncertainties and Doubt! The rabbit hole is certainly deep but the bottom is near. Now is the time to put an end to these horrid thoughts.
Your Populous adventure began when you followed that rabbit down the rabbit hole 6 months ago!
The Master Key
To continue your journey of discovery you need the key to unlock the door blocking your way. You don’t need a bite of cake or to drink a magic concoction, just sit and wait, and the key will come to you.
The key is not the XBRL token as we have affectionately come to know it, but will come as the PXT token. The “X” represents XBRL and is also quite apt, since “X” is an unknown quantity and only by unlocking the door will the unknown become known.
The PXT is the key that unlocks the doors containing the myriads of data hidden in the XBRL data set. The PXT token is the “Master Key” to access the data in the "Data Platform".
PXT Token Airdrop
In keeping with Populous’ modus operandi (MO), the airdrop will be a surprise. We don’t know when the airdrop will take place but just taking a guess, the airdrop will likely coincide with the beta launch of Populous and the Data Platform.
The PXT token is used on the Data Platform and the data from the Data Platform are used in Populous so all are dependent on one another. When is the launch? Well, it’s a surprise!
Surveying the Field
We have all been impatient as to when the airdrop will take place, but this can only be done once a snapshot of PPT token holders is taken. On 4 November 2017 through their twitter account, Populous announced that the snapshot “starts from tonight”.
Once the snapshot is taken, an analysis for eligible PPT holders will be carried out to determine “loyalty”.

The New Digital Ecosystem
When Steve broke free of the Matrix, he found himself in a new world full of possibilities. He found that he was not constrained by the existing rules but free to lay the ground works for a new beginning. Populous in their update describes this as an “ecosystem” but in fact this is a new “digital ecosystem”.
This new digital ecosystem being built is called “Populous World”.
A digital ecosystem is a distributed adaptive, open socio-technical system with properties of self-organisation, scalability and sustainability inspired from natural ecosystem. Digital ecosystem models are informed by knowledge of natural ecosystems, especially for aspects related to competition and collaboration among diverse entities - Wikipedia
Steve first came up with the idea of the XBRL engine and Populous the invoice financing platform was born. The start of something new, the start of a new way of doing things, the start of a new world, the birth of a new digital ecosystem.
In keeping with the standard Populous MO the “Data Platform” was conceived away from prying eyes - in stealth. However to tease the PPT holders the XBRL token was debut ahead of time. Excitement was in the air at the thought of “freebies” but little did we know that the idea was for a new Data Platform that would feed data to the invoice financing platform.
Disrupting the world of invoice financing is not enough but to also revolutionise the way businesses view their own accounts. The “Prediction Analysis Tool” will pass the guess work from human to AI in the forecasting of future liquidity needs. This will help fuel the growth of the new digital ecosystem by enlightening the business community.
Populous can run their trains on tracks controlled by others but Populous wants to go in a different direction. To make this digital ecosystem run evenly, smoother and more efficiently, Populous will become track layers to build dedicated infrastructure suited to their own needs. The new digital ecosystem is taking shape and coming to view.
Like fuel to fire, new features and functionality are needed for “Populous World” to grow. An idea that is brought into this world need to be nurtured until it is self-sustaining. This is a huge undertaking that came from the mind of one person.

In Conclusion
There are so many balls being juggled at the same time and to keep them all in the air in perfect harmony takes considerable skill.
Coding for Populous and the Data Platform, review of eligible PPT tokens holders and ground works for PXT token airdrops, lining up sufficient invoice sellers in the UK and the China market, establishing the UK head office and setting up the Hong Kong branch office for the China market, finding investors to fill the liquidity pool, review of suitable exchanges so PPT can be traded widely and on top of all that, making side deals with the likes of LGC.
Whew! Quite a to-do-list and all before Christmas.
The work does not end there. There are new carriages to be built, markets to be entered, accounting practices to be revolutionised, more deals to be made and tracks to be laid. The list is never ending and all adds value for PPT holders.
The Populous Update gives us a glimpse of what is in store with the up-and-coming new digital ecosystem. The XBRL engine is tooting and raring to depart with the Populous and the Data Platform carriages in tow. What other carriages will hooked-up to this XBRL engine in the future?
