Tecta Systems of Palo Alto raised $75 million to accelerate a platform it describes as an intelligent nervous system, Dextrous Intelligence, created to tackle variable and complex tasks in the same way humans do in factories.

The basis is an architecture that combines hardware, software and AI to close the loop, perception, decision, action with low latency, in good translation, give the robot something close to proprioception, perceive contact, sliding and micro variations and integrate that with vision and mapping of the environment to choose the next action with precision.

From the classification of irregular items in logistics to the fine assembly of electronics to inspection where touch detects flaws that the camera does not see, in mixed cells sensitivity reduces damage and stoppages and facilitates the rapid change of tasks without long reprogramming.

The message from investors is simple, less downtime, more performance per cell and a leap in autonomy in tasks that previously could not be automated.
