How to file a complaint with the SEC in the USA about Poloniex And Alert The FBI
After millions have been stolen you really do not have any choice but to file some legal documents to get your funds back. Honestly you might never see your funds at this point.
Poloniex has stolen your money and you must take legal action!
If you are in the USA you have a few option at the federal level which will not get your funds back but will shut down the Fake Exchange Poloniex. It often takes more than one individual filing a complaint to start any investigations. There is no doubt in my mind that US laws are being violated at this point. Though I am not an attorney and cannot give you legal advice. You should seek the advice of a competent professional.
There are rules and legal rights you have when using an exchange if you are in the United States. The Security And Exchange Commission Can Shut down an exchange that is not conducting business according to the rules. Each state usually has an Attorney General that will sometimes listen to your concern and take legal action on your behalf.
Generally there has to be a certain $ amount stolen before they will get involved. Additionally if there are multiple people in a state or region the States Attorney may also become interested in such a grand scheme to defraud it's citizens.
Just because this is involving a crypto currency theft is theft and your property has been stolen. If we do nothing about this then many others will be stolen from in the future. If there are enough people we could possible start a class action lawsuit against Steemit and Poloniex and I think this would be a solid option at this point.
What exactly is poloniex doing?
They have and continue to steal millions in steem and sbd. The current amount that they have stolen is actually closer to 40 Million USD... The exact methods that they have used is rife with deceit.
They have and continue to accept Steem and SBD to be sent to their account which is to be then deposited into your Poloniex account for the purpose of trading or exchanging. Instead of doing this they are holding hostage the funds received. The funds neither get refunded nor deposited into the trade accounts. There are literally millions currently like this for almost 1 full week. The users that are affected make up about 1/7 of the total Steem economy. By limiting the amount of Steem That can be traded by 1/7 they have artificial manipulated the markets. The people whose funds are being held hostage also are not drawing interest on their funds or able to make trades on these funds.
There has been zero response from Poloniex or Steemit about this with thousands of members impacted. They have stolen these funds for the time being and should be prosecuted for this theft. Many have had their funds stolen for months and months and months. Some get it back but many never get their funds back.

Please why did you involve STEEMIT in your post?
They are facilitating the illegal theft. They should shut down the transfer of funds to poloniex immediately. Additionally the scam is so large that they should alert users to the scam with a pop up or disclaimer. This is just good business sense as they claim to be a social media website. You do not want your users to be scammed do you? Steemit is possibly coordinated with Poloniex to manipulate the currency. Their silence on the matter makes me suspect this to be true.
Steemit Should Take Action At Maybe 1 Million Now At 18 Million Stolen They Have To Immediately Suspend The Poloniex Account. They need to start refunding money asap...Not tomorrow but RIGHT NOW!
The lookout is just as guilty as the thief themselves!
I have sent a message to @ned. Others should do the same to protect the Steemit Platform. Inaction will collapse Steemit. If they are not involved then they should say as much and protect their social media users.
