Indictments, Probe Widens Against Ex-Wasserman Schultz IT Aide
A federal grand jury has now raised additional criminal charges against Imran Awan, the former House Democratic IT staffer with close ties to Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida.
Awan was arrested by the FBI last month at Dulles airport as he attempted to flee the U.S. for his home country of Pakistan, and charged with bank fraud.
The charges stem from a massive rental property operation Awan and his family members were running in Virginia, while Awan and his wife were in bankruptcy. The Awans had misrepresented themselves on mortgage loans for the properties.
I bet you haven't heard this story talked about in the media but we now have four charges against Mr. Awan including making false statements and conspiracy. It sounds like Mr. Awan was doing more than just falsify bank documents and maybe he was actually spying for the Pakistanis government or some other foreign entity.
What's interesting is Debbie Wasserman Schultz had this guy on the payroll up to the day he was arrested and if you remember a couple months ago she threatened the Capitol Police Chief with 'consequences' if Mr. Awan's laptop wasn't return to her. So the question must be asked what did she know about Mr. Awan? If he was Spying for a foreign country was she in on it too?
Bottom line is she needs to be under investigation too for her desperate attempt to get that laptop back.
