British hacker Lauri Love will not be extradited to the US.

The British hacker Lauri Love, who is charged with stealing data from the US Army and Missile Defense Agency, will not be forcibly shipped to to US and instead will face justice in his native UK.

This is terrific news. Lauri Love is autistic and requires support from his parents. If he were extradited to the US, a country he has never before stepped foot in, there is a very real chance that he would take his own life.

Leaving the courthouse, Mr Love said he hoped he had set a "precedent so this will not happen to people in the future".

"I'm hoping that this outcome can contribute to the discussion we are having as a society about how to accommodate people that have neuro-diversity, whose brains are made up in a slightly different way,"

"There is an ongoing problem with people with autism in the justice system - they have actually been debating it in Westminster Hall.

"I hope in the future to be able to contribute to a slightly better understanding of the stigma associated with depression."

The US can, however appeal the decision within 14 days, and considering that they have such a hard-on for incarcerating Love they may well take the opportunity.
