Permission Isn't Freedom

in #politics8 years ago

It seems these days people are constantly yelling about this "freedom" or that "freedom" in which they want the government to give back to them. It is as if to say that government giving them permission to exercise certain acts is the pinnacle of freedom.

"If a persons life without Liberty is like a body without a spirit", as Khalil Gibran said; a person's "freedom" is in jeopardy whenever a politician has a pen in hand.

Seeking permission to use natural faculties and abilities isn't the essence of free people, neither is the requirement to gain permission or approval by those people elected to perceived positions of power and authority.

Seeking permission in lieu of facing prosecution means defeat of an individual's ability to be free from coercion or force; fear of retribution or restitution is no substitute for freedom or reason for attributing any more authority over one's self by others.

One cannot be simultaneously free and controlled. A person directed by permissions and exclusions; one that acts only in accordance to dictates and decrees from those they see as in control or authority of them are setting a false sense of freedom in their own minds. They capture themselves, cage their minds and enslave their bodies.

Permission doesn't mean you are free, it means you are still being controlled.

On point! Simple things need to be remembered often.

One thing that I keep saying, is that people in the United States actually believe that we have liberty. Clearly though, we don't.
