Wyoming's 2018 Republican Gubernatorial Primary Overview

in #politics6 years ago

Here is my extremely biased overview of the candidates running in Wyoming's 2018 Republican primary for governor. Whoever wins this will most likely win the general election in November. A Democrat governor is not impossible in Wyoming, but it is unlikely.

This is my incredibly biased view of things. I've put the candidates in order from best to worst as near as I can. The top three candidates are all equally outstanding in my opinion, and it was hard to choose who to put on top.

The primary will be held on 21 August 2018

Foster Friess - Foster is a businessman who hasn’t held political office before, although he has been politically active. In recent years he has financially supported Republican candidates in various races and conservative Republican causes. He has also been a frequent commentator on major media outlets. He doesn’t have a voting record to inspect, but he has made many of his views public for a long time and he comes off as very conservative. He is one of the greatest investors of all time and I think this is something Wyoming needs now more than ever.

Wyoming has been blessed with abundant natural resources. We should be a very RICH state. Sadly the Wyoming government, especially the administration of Matt Mead, has spent us into a spot where we aren’t looking much better than California. Wyoming has one of the least transparent financials of any state. Most of our money is being pilfered by corrupt politicians and rewarded to their buddies in no-bid contracts. I think Foster is the best guy to stop this nonsense.

Foster got a wonderful endorsement from Wyoming Gun Owners founder and current state senator Anthony Bouchard. Senator Bouchard is probably the single most conservative member of the Wyoming Legislature so if Foster is good enough for him, Foster is good enough for me.

Foster Friess comes across as a very humble man. He certainly has a Wyoming style to him and would make an excellent governor.

Harriet Hageman - Harriet is another outstanding candidate for governor. Harriet has spent her life as a lawyer and she has fought the tyrants at the EPA and beat them on their own turf. She has fought hard for Wyoming ranchers. Harriet is a fighter 100% and she will help Wyoming stand up to unconstitutional federal agencies.

In my opinion, Harriet is an equally good candidate with Foster Friess, but Senator Bouchard’s endorsement led me to put Foster on top.

Taylor Haynes - Taylor is the third outstanding candidate for governor. He is a great man in every way. Taylor is a doctor who always dreamed of being a cowboy and he is now living that dream. I would have put Dr. Haynes first on this list, however there is some controversy over his eligibility surrounding his residence. He lives on a ranch that is mostly in Wyoming, however it appears his house site is just across the line in Colorado. There are some interesting things going on here as the initial complaint was filed by someone who did not want their identity known. They used an anonymous email address. Hopefully nothing comes of this, but I put Dr. Haynes third on the list because the Cheyenne swamp will certainly try to use this to get a Democrat governor if Dr. Haynes wins the primary. See the details here: https://haynesonwyoming.com/news

Controversy aside, Dr. Haynes is probably the most Constitutionally minded candidate on the ballot. He will certainly not take any guff from Washington DC.

Bill Dahlin - He’s a successful businessman from Sheridan, but I couldn’t find out much about him. He seems conservative. He might even be a great guy. Maybe he’d make a good governor? But with the three conservative superstars at the top of this list, why take a chance?

Sam Galeotos - For me, only three candidates are fit to be Wyoming’s next governor. Foster Friess is one. Harriet Hageman is another. Taylor Haynes is the third. Sam Galeotos and Mark Gordon are NOT fit be governor. Sam is an accomplished businessman and he talks a good game. In the Wyoming PBS debate (link below) he said all the right things and came across well. If you look at his private record though, he is obviously a RINO. Sam Galeotos is the chairman of the board of directors of a company called Green House Data. Green House Data, under Sam’s leadership, is supporting nearly every Social Justice Warrior (SJW) and radical environmental nutball cause there is. How conservative can Sam possibly be. He’s lying to us. Please don’t vote for this man. Wyoming does not need someone who supports Al Gore’s global warming hoax in the governors mansion.

Mark Gordon - Very similar to Sam Galeotos, Mark Gordon is a man who is saying all the right things in this primary. He appears to be a solid Wyoming guy. Appearances can be deceiving. Mark Gordon has served the Sierra Club, and Friends of the Earth. Harriet Hageman pointed this out in the debate. Mark’s response was that he did it to “protect” ranchers. Kind of an infiltration project I suppose? You don’t negotiate with terrorists. Mark Gordon is not a man I want running Wyoming. I bet he’d sell us out to his radical enviro buddies in a second.
