DNA makeover

Next month I am to visit Haifa in Israel, and this will be my third trip to the Holy Land, but the one thing you realise very quickly when you arrive there is the true back story to Israel.

It is of a booming modern Israeli economy and despite the recent spate of Palestinian stabbings, an almost calming peace pervades the place. This state was founded in 1948. The Zionist miracle was one of the most spectacular things of the 20th century.

Jews coming from all over the world coming to settle in this new place in the Middle East. Even today the modern Aliyah program still exists.

I think there is something revolutionary in Jewish thought. The Jewish DNA itself. I also think this is in the DNA of Israel itself. The constant search for a revolution that will improve the peace in the area despite all the governments illegal attacks.

I seriously think by making Israeli policy all about conflict they have lost the true reason why they exist. The peace loving Ben Gurion comes to mind, as I truly believed he wanted peace in Israel. It's plain to see that when I talk with Israelis that all they want is a peaceful co-existence.

So where does this leave the Palestinians? They never had a state. It's clear the West Bank settlements will remain, but they are forever an eyesore to Israel. It's truly clear we'll never see settlements being removed again after what had happened in Gaza. The Israeli DNA is truly a mix of blood that is truly wrong, and truly right. Time will tell where they go next?

P.S. Ian Brown - Illegal Attacks ft. Sinead O'Connor:

P.S. Just last week a Palestine stabbed 4 to death ... the week before that a UK female exchange student was stabbed to death on a train.

Just wondering, when you have visited Israel. Have you ever ventured over to Palestine?

No. But I hope to on this trip. One of my friends Amina Khaliq from Scotland has family there, and has stuff she wishes me to take to her family. If I'm barred access, they will come out to meet me from their interred prison!
