The Tragedy of the Human ConditionsteemCreated with Sketch.

People who complain about "more democratic systems" are effectively morons. You see, democracy, the average perception, elects "representatives" that people are never satisfied with. Almost like an alter-ego conflict.

Politics, much like religion, reflect basic human desires that deal with authority, power and control. The system is not "left" or "right". The "system" is the sum of all people's desires that start from basic things such as having an iphone, or cheap beer, or "a good job", or "travel once a while". These desires set larger wheels in motion since not everyone can enjoy the goodies.

Sure, you desire "equality" and "communism" and "socialism" but you still prefer to get laid with a fine ass rather than an "average" one. We are all capitalists either we like it or not and I dare anyone to take a glance of their surroundings and refuse that they possess something because it had an "equal value" to something else. Everything you own, everything you are, is the result of getting X while rejecting Y. X survives, Y perishes.

We always want things that have value. Whether it has to do with asses, cigarettes, politicians or a good book. Things that have value are rare and only a few get to have them. This is why 75% of the people on this planet do not have water, shelter and food on a daily basis. This is why we don't give a shit about it and we instead upvote memes, play video games, or discuss how politicians are scams whereas we are the innocent westerners that have nothing to do with the situation.

Political leader A doesn't matter about world politics as much as the Religious leader B doesn't when it comes to world religions. Politics, religion and economics are illusions — merely post-hoc derivatives of various social clusterfucks. At the end, they can all get distilled down to the same exact human desires. We desperately try to make sense of the world because we seek causal agents. We need answers, meaning. We can't bear to accept chaos so we compromise with delusions of grandeur.

Being an atheist or anarchist doesn't make one immune to this delusion. For example, atheists believe that the universe is a result of random processes, chaotic relationships all coordinated under a seeming order. This is after all why the air seems so fit to breathe and the grass so pleasant to our eyes. We came afterwards. We were designed to be part of the process. A prayer, a pope, a belief in a God that made all these "orderly" won't change a thing.

Many atheists though fail to employ the same logic when it comes to economics and human affairs on this planet. Same exact thing happens when we observe a price move on NASDAQ, a referendum in Turkey, pop artists doing cocaine and being loud about it in order to gain attention. All of human interaction is based on selfish economic processes, weaved together in trillions of chaotic parameters. No matter how much you believe in politics, marxism, Austrian economics, politician A instead of B, Elon Musk or Trump, no one can predict or control what will happen on planet earth as much as no one has made this universe for us to live in it.

Very thought provoking post! Though I don't agree 100 percent, I do believe that your words cause us all to think about our world on a deeper level and from a fresh perspective! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! You have my upvote!

Which parts do you find yourself disagreeing with?

I disagree with very little, actually. I would say my view of spirituality might differ a bit. Otherwise, I think we're mainly on the same page! I appreciate your sharing your insights!

The bullshit we're witnessing on a global scale is indeed a tragedy. It's time for something better.

There is a wave of human energy building right now that has never been seen before. There will be no avoiding its impact, no safe space to hide in. One may either grab a surf board and swim out to ride this coming wave of destiny or get crushed once it breaks. I dont see any other options.

Which wave are you referring to?

A metaphorical one comprised of emotional energy. Its behind the explosion in decentralization we're participating in and also the increased anger and confusion society faces.

Not quite to the point of your post, but inspired by it:

While I like some of my private property, and am attached to it, I'm not greedy enough to see accumulation of capital as a goal. I would like to see a wider distribution of ownership of means of production, more production taking place near its consumption and at the same price levels, and more people being able to buy what they need and in doing so help the local economy.

My point is that while, with preciously few exceptions, all economic theory at the moment is bollocks (mainly folklore, bigotry and magical thinking) and politics rather than science, it may be worthwhile to experiment a bit to spread the wealth more, without doing away with private property.

Not everybody uses religion or economic theory to justify grabbing as much as one can and sleep well while doing that. It's not because they give a shit about strangers, but because there may be a better way of going about things that benefits one's extended group. It's an interesting thought experiment, at least.
