FBI Posed As Journalists To Gather Evidence On Bundy

Back when the 2014 Bundy standoff took place with authorities, it's alleged that the FBI posed as journalists in order to gather information on the Bundys. Now that the truth is out, the reality of their actions could possibly hurt their pending Bundy case. Specifically, it's alleged that the FBI posed as a fake film company (Longbow Productions) in order to trick the Bundy family into giving interviews; those interviews might be used in upcoming trials.

A number of Bundy trials are expected to begin in Nevada this week, involving more than a dozen individuals who have been charged with a variety of offenses related to the widely-publicized altercation.

The FBI's fake company had enabled them to engage in a deceptive undercover operation and because of the controversy over their actions, lawyers suggest that it could derail the case. This isn't the only ethics scandal that authorities are involved in, who were a part of the Bundy standoff that occurred. The BLM has also recently come under fire for their alleged involvement in abusing their authority to secure Burning Man tickets.

Attorneys for the defendants argue that the FBI's actions tricked the defendants into making false and potentially incriminating statements. They say that FBI agents allegedly paid the defendants for their testimony and even provided alcohol in one instance. They expect that the jury won't be fond of hearing this information.

The Bundy's still maintain that they were engaged in armed but peaceful protests, in the face of accusations from the government and others that they launched a coordinated attack on agents and that they've supposedly damaged public lands.

At least 17 men are expected to be involved in the upcoming trials related to the Nevada, Bunkerville incident, including Cliven, Ryan, and Ammon Bundy.
