The banana republic justice and politics of USA

in #politics6 years ago (edited)

If you've been paying attention to US politics recently you know about the current investigation going on about potential ties between the Trump campaign and Russia during last year's presidential election.

Well, a few days ago news broke out about the firing of FBI agent Peter Strzok, who was part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. He was fired because of some anti-Trump private messages he sent to his lover, FBI attorney Lisa Page, proving his bias against the now POTUS Trump.

Why is the firing of this agent important?

Peter Strzok, former deputy to the assistant director for counterintelligence at the FBI, was the guy who interviewed Trump's former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

He was also the guy who, based on the "Russia dossier" (that dossier who falsely claimed that Trump hired prostitutes while in Russia to take a piss on the bed in which Obama slept while visiting Russia), decided to launch the Trump-Russia colussion in the first place.

Peter Strzok was also in charge of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. He was the one who changed former FBI Director James Comey's language about Hillary Clinton's actions regarding her email server from “grossly negligent” to “extremely careless". This is important because naming her mishandling of classified information "grossly negligent" would have called for criminal consequences. If the language in the FBI's report wouldn't have been changed Clinton's presidential campaign would have most probably ended and she would have had to face criminal charges.

Here's Ben Shapiro explaining all of this:
