Poem: Damphir and vamphum

The following poem was published in Spanish language on May 23rd, 2019. The Spanish version was recently introduced in the CELF Magazine's blog post #226 along another interesting posts from native Spanish and English speakers. Born we are from
life and death's love.
Different from our parents we are
for our poisonous blood
protect us from their bite.
.-.-.-.
Vampires fear us,
few humans know about our existence.
Vampires are willing to eliminate us,
few humans are willing to help us.
.-.-.-.
The vamphum is long-lived;
its nature is so vagrant
as the human adventurers.
The damphir lives like a human;
it mixes easily among humans.
.-.-.-.
The vamphum can live centuries,
the damphir can live decades.
The vamphum feeds on vampire blood,
the damphir rarely feeds on human blood.

We are the result of two worlds' union.
We are the witnesses of History.
We are part of the Mankind itself.
