Life & Death Haikus: Luis "King Kong" Ortiz Vs. Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder (Original Poem)

in #poetry6 years ago

Both Knockout Artists
Cuban schooled boxing versus
Alabama strength...

This match goes down March 3rd, so don't miss out on this one. This features two of the top heavyweights in the heavyweight division and this will not go the distance. My thoughts on this fight are pretty simple. Luis "King Kong" Ortiz, with his boxing skills, combinations, head movement, ability to counter, and foot work will be able to cause some problems early on for Deontay "The Bronze Bomber" Wilder, but Wilder in the end will find a way to land either the left or the right hand and connect a devastating back to back set of power punches that will sit Ortiz down. They both have impressive power, but Ortiz has been known to be unnatural in his methods, and since the testing will be thorough before heading into this fight, Wilder's one hit KO power poses a real threat, especially considering the past three opponents have all been found doping and using illegal substances to have an edge over Wilder, forcing Wilder to rematch an out of shape Bermaine Stiverne, but I still don't think that devastating 1st round KO of Stiverne was enough to satisfy and quell the pent up anger in Wilder because he still has to prove himself, and Ortiz provides the right amount of reputable momentum to excel Wilder towards a mega fight with Anthony Joshua, when Joshua successfully wins over young champion Joseph Parker, and then the unification bout will be something to really appreciate when it is all said and done. Wilder will not go the distance, I expect a KO win before the 10th round because Ortiz will cause some problems early on.

Hi @verbal-d nice post, upvoted and folIowed you. I'm really looking forward to this fight!

I also think Wilder KO, Ortiz might have aged too much now after his problems in the last 2 years..

This fight next week is 1 of 3 in a new competition I am running for boxing predictions, there is a SBD Bounty Reward for everyone who can pick the results in 3 fights each week.

I could really use the help of boxing fans on steemit to make it a success so please enter by reading and commenting on this post!

Thank you very much, yes I think you're right. Ortiz may be past his prime but he is still a heavyweight capable of dealing some heavy damage so I won't count him out completely.
I will definitely check out your post :) thanks for the heads up

I need someone to knockout Anthony Joshua atleast once...can 'Fury' do that?

Knocking out AJ won't be that difficult because AJ does seem to tire out quickly leaving room for open shots when he has punched himself out, but I don't believe Fury can KO AJ though. That isn't being very realistic, because he is just now shedding weight to even be a professional fighter again after dealing with so many personal issues. Deontay Wilder, Luis Ortiz, or Big Baby Miller might have a better chance at KOing AJ, but Fury could definitely Out Point win AJ on the scorecards with his fast feet and swift boxing prowess

Since you got to boxing, how about something on Rocky Balboa?

Rocky Balboa is a great movie, but I'm not inspired to write anything on the topic at the moment. I would rather cover current real boxing news because there is so much going on in many of the weight divisions. If I do cover this theme, I'll let you know :)

Well, I meant Rocky Balboa the character, not the movie :)
