Burn with Mad Death (the Mystery of the “Way”)

in #poetry6 years ago (edited)

Inspired by some morning reading today.

These passages are taken from Bushido: Way of the Samurai, and the Tao Te Ching, respectively.

I hope you won’t mind zooming in on the photos to read them, as I was unable to find online texts by the same translators.

When you burn with mad death, there is nothing to fear.

That is some valuable reading @kafkanarchy84. The "Burn with Mad Death" makes me think of the last time I got mad and wrote an email novel to my Plant Manager, basically telling him that he should be ashamed of the lack of support he was giving the "little guys" within my Department. I immediately regretted hitting the send button.

Next day, instead of getting reprimanded, all of the Managers were working to fix the problem. I was in shock. They were actually listening, or did they fear that Mad Death maybe? Ha

They were actually listening, or did they fear that Mad Death maybe?

I believe they did!!! :)

This is some cool text. Poignant. Thanks for sharing with us.

Try using the CamScanner app from Google play store to convert pictures taken by your phone to photocopy format.
Its a useful app on such cases, will help the text to be more readable😊

Thanks for the tip!

Good morning from Macedonia

So he needed men that don't fear death and play it dirty on the battlefield, anything to kill and win. Don't let your dignities get in the way, survival is key. The samurai where greatly feared for this reason, skillful, no fear of death, masters in tactics, heavily equipped and not forget being able to cut one in half with a katana. The horror of cut limbs and bodies probably roamed as stories around for centuries. Fear is a strong tool. They made use of this human natural instinct. They still use it today to keep everyone in check with the government these days. It's called smart power, very effective.

I've read the Tao Te Ching but not Bushido: Way of the Samurai. Both quotes are very inspirational. There is so much knowledge in the east.
I'm reminded of a quote I can't properly remember or attribute, It goes roughly "The east is like a legless man and the west is like a blind man. The east therefore should ride on the shoulders of the west, because while the west can at least walk, it lacks the sight to know the way."

I'm sure I butchered that. lol

Great post.
