UNDER THE OAK'S INFLUENCE (An Original Poetry)
IMAGE SOURCE; Couple under the tree
The world above is a hippodrome
a blazing ball brightening
through the green leaves
smeared sweetly leaving dots
on our blinking faces
gently colliding, sentences surfacing
a sequestered place
where we're only citizens
as the moon marries the sun
and halts the passing of time
Under the oak's influence
deep in love's mire
falling unplumbed
like a withering petal
without consciousness
We're like embryos unhatched,
a zygote of kisses waiting to be shared
the world can perish on our feet
still we'll exist to lighten our cosmos
away from life's banality
Under the oak's influence
taken by the aesthetics
of the nightingale's ballad
deep in the grassy blades of the bayou.
the cricket's chirping a melody to savour
professing the heart's content
and watching the emotion
bubble like soap's lather
pouring them out, trickling like water
on the smooth surface of beach's rocks
lapping like a carol
the ovulated beating of our heart.
Under the oak's influence
lips theatrically gliding
like the crashing of the waves
in a universe where we solely exist
lost in nature's whammy grander
listening to the flame etched in the eyes
a recipe for an uncooked spell
where we are enchanted to be dozy
for the rest of our lives
until the tide is come to our banks
to delicately ferry us home
