The Grand: a poem

The sound of fake laughter echoes off the shiny, white floor.

Symmetrical hallways cascade toward the Fed Ex building.

Bored business and tourists loiter in the hotel bar and balk secretly at the price of watered down whiskey
and beer.

And I'm waiting in the lobby, to interview someone and smile sincerely, and shake hands vigorously.
