I’m anything but a Biblical literalist, but I think the book of Genesis has a truly fascinating parable about the creative power of language.
“And God said, ‘let there be light,’ and there was light.”
He then goes on to create lots of other things - by using words. In fact, the entire premise of this creation story is that God uses words and language to make things happen. This famous passage of the Bible repeats the phrase “and God said” no less than ten times! He then goes to give his new creations more specific names in order to refine their physical form.
We humans also have the ability to shape reality with our words (though admittedly we're not as skillful at this task as the God of the Old Testament). Intuitively we know it is self-defeating for someone to say, “I’ll never be able to do this.” It’s more powerful to say, “This might be possible for me.” And more powerful still to say, “Okay, I’m doing this now.”
Obviously language isn’t the only tool for shaping reality, but it is an extremely important one. Since we humans are so enchanted by the future, we are also enchanted by words, which provide us with a gauzy foreshadowing of what is about to happen next.

The animation of the words are very useful and help the brain to understand the message in a dynamic way. But beyond the animation, the power of message is amazing to start the day, to motivate people.
One of the most important inventions (imo the most important) was the ability to translate spoken words into a form we could pass down to our future generations.

I remember when I used to watch television and I was told to stay tuned for my 'regular programming'. One day the words sunk in and I suddenly didn't feel like watching anymore. Left the channeling for others.

We were made in the image and likeness of God not because God is like a man, but because Man is designed to create.
